Born in 1984 in Mezzouna, Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia, Abdessalem Elfalah lives and works in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He was awarded a professorship in the field of plastic arts at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Nabeul, Tunisia in 2010. In 2014, he graduated with a master’s degree in Science and Technology from the institute. He is now writing his doctoral thesis on art theory at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis, Tunisia.
Elfalah has exhibited his works in Tunisia, France and the United Arab Emirates. The venues have included the Gallery of the National Library in Tunisia (2017 and 2018); Kan art space in Sousa, Tunisia (2017); the Cultural Complex Neapolis (2018 and 2019); Neapolis Cultural Foundation (2018 and 2019); Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery (2019); and Galerie Patrick Bartoli, Marseille, France (2019). After moving to the United Arab Emirates, he exhibited his paintings in the ‘COVID Conversation’ exhibition at Tashkeel, Dubai in 2020. Elfalah is a recipient of the Cultural Foundation Art Residency 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
