Obaid Suroor received his BA in Fine Arts from Cairo University. He is a founding member of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, and head of the Society’s atelier in Ras Al Khaimah. Suroor’s works have been exhibited throughout the UAE and internationally, highlights of which include the National Pavilion of the UAE at the Venice Biennial (2015); the Ras Al Khaimah Exhibition Centre (2002, 2003); several Sharjah Biennials (1995-2001); the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation (1998); Jerash Festival for Culture and the Arts, Jordan (1996); the Asian Art Biennial (Bangladesh, Dhaka, 1995); the GCC Annual Exhibition (1994); International Cairo Biennials (1992, 1998); Fine Arts Bazaar, Sharjah Expo (1984); as well as exhibitions in Algeria and Saudi Arabia. His work is part of the ADMAF collection, and can also be found in numerous private collections.

In 2018, the artist participated in Artists and the Cultural Foundation: The Early Years, Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
