Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim studied art at the Emirates Fine Arts Society, mentored by artist Hassan Sharif and by the avant-garde poet, Ahmed Rashid Thani (originally a librarian in Khor Fakkan, the latter went on to become librarian at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi). Ibrahim’s work was recently the subject of a major retrospective, Elements, at the Sharjah Art Foundation (2018). He has exhibited in numerous major institutions worldwide including: Kunst Museum (Bonn, Germany); Sharjah Art Museum (UAE); Ludwig Forum (Aachen, Germany); Institut du Monde Arabe (Paris, France). He exhibited in Emirates 4, the first exhibition of Emirati art in Europe, at the Sittard Art Centre (Netherlands, 1995). He has participated in numerous Sharjah Biennials, where he has twice received First Prize for Sculpture (2001, 1999). Additional exhibitions at biennials include, among others, the inaugural UAE Pavilion in Venice (2009); Dhaka (2002, 1993); Havana (2000); and Cairo (1998).

In 2018, the artist participated in Artists and the Cultural Foundation: The Early Years, Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
