Naseer Shamma is a universally recognised master of the oud. Born in Iraq, he played his first solo concert in the 1980s. Since then, he has toured the world extensively.

A former professor of oud at the Higher Institute of Music, University of Tunisia, he is also the founder of Bait al Oud Abu Dhabi.The Global Project musicians joining Naseer Shamma are a stellar array of performers from different cultures: Paraguayan harp phenomena Victor Espinola; Multi-award winning Tunisian composer, orchestrator, and musical director Amine Bouhafa who is one of the youngest composers to receive the César Award in France. Brazilian/French percussionist Jorge Bezerra. American Violinist Karen Briggs, American/Armenian master bassist Hova Burian, French percussionist Nicolas Montazaud, and Turkish Clarinet tycoon Serkan Cagri.

Together, the members of this extraordinary creative partnership are dedicated to blending the music of the Middle East with musical influences from all around the world.
