The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi launches the first Register of Cultural Organizations and Professionals (ROCOP). ROCOP aims to strengthen public sector support for cultural and creative organizations and professionals, building a vibrant cultural life in Abu Dhabi.
To accomplish this, DCT Abu Dhabi invites all cultural and creative organizations and professionals to join ROCOP. This includes any organization or individual in the visual or performing arts, audio-visual and multimedia, architecture, advertising, arts and crafts, heritage, archives, libraries, books and publishing, or any other culture-related area of activity.
Although registration is voluntary at this stage, ROCOP membership will be required for anyone wanting to work with DCT Abu Dhabi through the submission of cultural proposals, requests for financial grants or other forms of aid.
DCT Abu Dhabi will also use ROCOP data to recognize individuals as culture and creative professionals. This will assist in attracting potential sponsors and promoters, funding and recognition.
ROCOP data will be used by DCT Abu Dhabi for further interaction with the cultural and creative sector of Abu Dhabi, through specific communications, the dissemination of information and updates and invitations to capacity-building activities such as workshops, seminars, conferences and invite-only events.
ROCOP will limit access to its directory to registered organizations and individuals. In the future, ROCOP data will support employment opportunities and match schemes for culture organizations and professionals in Abu Dhabi.
