Overview

 To mark the Cultural Foundation’s re-opening, the Artists and the Cultural Foundation: The Early Years exhibition, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, presents work from a core group of artists who had an active relationship with this space in those early decades, as well as a selection of artworks from a younger generation who grew up in and around the Foundation. 

Reflections

Reflections is an interactive digital exhibition of four emerging artists, each presenting an artwork that reflects on the works of the artists participating in the Artists and the Cultural Foundation: The Early Years exhibition. Through audio recordings explaining the interconnections between the different artists, Reflections showcases works by: Obaid Al Baddour, Rashid Al Mulla, Hamdan Al Shamsi, Khawla Darwish.

Obaid Al Budoor

Photography Basics
Obaid Al Budoor will teach the fundamentals of photography, through ‘easy to remember’ tips, followed by a photo walk around the premises.

This workshop will guide the participants through the foundations of portrait drawings.

The Cultural Foundation represents an inspiring space for art professionals and established artists, enabling them to present their works, while sharing their rich experience with other colleagues and art amateurs. Through interactive workshops, established artists can exchange with their public and teach their techniques to amateurs and art professionals.

Artists and the Cultural Foundation: The Early Years… The Artists Memories

From its early days, the Cultural Foundation was home to artists and a place where the UAE artistic scene flourished. This panel will feature group of pioneering artists who will share their experiences at the Cultural Foundation, describing how this place has influenced their artworks and careers over the years. They shall reveal the relationship between their artistic experiences at the Cultural Foundation and the artwork they are showcasing at the exhibition: Artists and the Cultural Foundation: The Early Years.
