"Another Perspective” Exhibition featuring Mohamed Al Astad


Artist Mohamed Al Astad presents a new form of contemporary art in his exhibition Another Perspective. His technique, ‘The Art of Beach Pearls’ (Danat Al Shawati), uses sea sand, rust and time to create dramatic visual pieces, and works are arranged alongside large-scale paintings to create an interactive installation, providing viewers with an immersive experience.

We invite you to join us for yet another transformation of the Photography Studio into a concept never before seen at MAS, with Emirati artist Hend Almurid. The concept behind this highly detailed work of art is clearly in its intricate doodles. If you look closely at the designs, you will realize the drawings are composed of abstract lines without lifting the pen from the paper. Now imagine an entire space covered in large doodles, with each wall highlighting a different pattern.

Our latest exhibition, 'Weaving Cultures, from Mexico to the UAE,' explores the dialogue between Emirati crafts and Mexican folk art, highlighting the similarities, differences, and shared threads between the two cultures through the lens of crafted and artistic creations. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the House of Artisans and the Fomento Cultural Citibanamex, A.C, is on display at the House of Artisans from 11 March until 23 June.
