Activation of Liwa Forts – Call for Proposals

With 2026 being celebrated as the “Year of Family” in the UAE, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi invites restaurant and café operators, business owners, entrepreneurs, and innovators to submit proposals for activations and pop-ups across the historic Liwa Forts.

This open call seeks high quality ideas that create enjoyable family experiences, respect the heritage character of each site, and provide a safe and welcoming environment for visitors throughout the winter season.

Mezaira'a Fort Yabbana Fort Al Meel Fort Dhafeer Murabba’a Qutouf Fort Mougab Tower Al Marya Al Gharbiya Tower Khannour Fort

Submission Requirements

  • Concept and Design: A 3D visual proposal showing the concept, visitor experience, and how it fits within the site.
  • Space Layout Plan: Showing equipment placement, seating arrangements, and operational components.
  • Product List: Menu of proposed food, beverages, and retail items, curated specifically for this activation.
  • Year of Family Initiatives: Activities or ideas that encourage family connection and enrich the visitor experience.
  • Required Documents: Passport copy, Emirates ID, and valid Trade License.

Operating Period: 1 December 2026 to 10 January 2027
