The book fair is a major market and networking opportunity for the region’s publishing industry
Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) provides an important networking platform for publishers from the United Arab Emirates, the Arab world and internationally, while also offering a diverse programme for publishers, writers and book lovers.

The fair includes a bookstore offering a wide selection of local and international books, cooking demonstrations, screenings of local and regional films in the Black Box Cinema, displays of cartoons, graphic design and illustrations from book illustrators and graphic novelists, and professional workshops, seminars and panel discussions.

There also is an expansive children’s programme with activities such as writing, drawing, science experiments and author Q&As.

Two important components of the fair include ‘Guest of Honour’, which brings a themed focus on a different country each year, and ‘Personality of the Year’, which highlights a distinguished author. These aspects of the fair aim to expose visitors and participants to literary traditions from around the world.

The fair is part of Abu Dhabi’s goal to transform itself into a major regional and international book publishing centre.
