Aldar Education are delighted to offer the Creator and Curator Art Competition. We are very privileged in Abu Dhabi to have some of the world’s greatest art and architecture to inspire and educate us.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi, for example, houses some of the greatest artworks of all time.
Who can apply?
Young people age 6 to 18 years

This competition is an opportunity for you to explore, design, create and curate an ‘artwork’ or ‘artistic design’ using any medium of your choice. For example, prints or sketches; photography; video; storyboard; textile and clothing; architecture or design, sculpture, etc. You may choose one of the following to frame your work —
Create your own art gallery installation – this can be in a medium of your choice (example, prints or sketches; photography; video; storyboard; textile and clothing; architecture or design, sculpture, etc.)
Create your own original artwork. Have a look at the ‘Flightpath Art’ by Aaron Koblin
Create your own video tour of a museum or art gallery of your choice with a voice over – perhaps to teach other students
Design/create a photo-story/narrative around an artwork of your choice
Create an e-book around the museum, an artwork, a painting, a technique, etc.
Design your own museum. The futuristic structure of the Louvre was designed by Jean Nouvel and it is literally out of this world!
Design a new ‘Old Master’ using digital media. Explore how you might re-present ‘The Mona Lisa’ or use techniques of your choice to create a ‘new’ masterpiece! Have a look at a representation of Justin Bieber! Perhaps you’d like to recreate the Mona Lisa for the 21st century?
Submission format
All digital forms of media are accepted. For sculptures or textiles, please submit high-resolution photographs from several angles.

Judging & Notification
All correctly prepared entries will be viewed and judged by a jury panel of experts from the Aldar Education team. Winners will be notified by email.
The winners from each competition will automatically be entered into the final Battle of the Arts organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. The #CulturALL community will then be called on to vote for their favourite artworks and choose the final winners for the inaugural Battle of the Arts competition.
Prizes
1st place — A variety of art books and gifts from the Louvre Abu Dhabi and tickets for a family visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
2nd place — A variety of art books and gifts from the Louvre Abu Dhabi and tickets for a family visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
3rd place — A variety of art books and gifts from the Louvre Abu Dhabi and tickets for a family visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
