The summit aims to encourage participants to show ways culture can tackle regional and global issues affecting the 21stt century
Culture Summit is a high-level platform for leading creative minds, public figures and influencers from the arts, media, public policy and technology to identify how culture can raise awareness, bring people closer and promote positive change.

The theme for the 2018 event is ‘Unexpected Collaborations: Forging New Connections Between Heritage and Innovation, Near and Far, Creativity and Purpose’.

The programme features a series of workshops, presentations and performances by 450 participants from 80 countries. A total of 65 workshops will explore how policy, technology, new media, artists, arts institutions and philanthropic communities can collaborate to address global matters, and make recommendations to impact future projects.

The first Culture Summit was held in 2017. It hosted 300 participants from over 80 countries to address a wide range of issues, such as preserving cultural heritage, understanding the disruptions associated with emerging technologies, bringing arts education to the young, and developing public policies that promote creativity and social development.

Culture Summit is hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi. The global nature and the presence of high profile participants at the summit add yet another dimension to Abu Dhabi’s growing role as an international cultural destination.
