A place for artists and art lovers to engage, explore and experiment with different creative disciplines

Al Qattra Arts Centre plays a unique role in Al Ain’s art and cultural scene. It is not only a place for people to see art, but also a place to create it.

The centre was established in 2011 as a venue where art and culture can be studied, practised and developed by Emiratis. The centre’s art gallery displays art by  expatriate and Emirati artists. There also is a permanent venue for archaeological and heritage exhibits, and studios for art classes.

The Dry Studio is a classroom for learning music and handicrafts, while the Wet Studio offers drawing and painting lessons. The centre is equipped with a Pottery Studio, a Digital Room for photography and computer classes, and a Calligraphy Studio.

The centre also is one of Al Ain’s leading venues for events, exhibitions and occasions that explore the region’s cultural heritage.

Al Qattra Arts Centre was redeveloped from the Bin ʿAti Al-Darmaki House, a traditional mud-brick tower and residence. The centre is designed in the regional architectural style and blends in with its surroundings, which include a number of historic buildings from early in Al Ain’s modern history.
