His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has proclaimed the year 2019 to be the 'The Year of Tolerance' in the UAE, highlighting the UAE as a global capital for tolerance, and emphasising tolerance as a universal concept aimed at entrenching the values of tolerance, dialogue, coexistence and openness to different cultures.
Abu Dhabi’s luxury shopping and dining destination will showcase a never-before-seen selection of historical moments commemorating the Founding Father of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for the Year of Tolerance.
In collaboration with the National Archive, the exhibition will feature a curated selection of images featuring His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan during key moments in the development of the UAE. The photos focus on his efforts to establish tolerance and plant the seeds of this virtue among the UAE community and residents.
Spanning more than two decades, from 1965 to 1990, the collection highlights the fundamental values the Year of Tolerance represents – such as the spirit of coexistence amongst all cultures and enrichment of society through the promotion of tolerance through education and within the community.
A total of 30 images of Sheikh Zayed is featured in the exhibition, each taken during key moments in the development of the UAE.
