Mustafa Ismail, better known by his stage name Freek, is a Somalian MC, rapper, director and record producer from Abu Dhabi. Regarded as a key figure in the conception of Arabic drill rap music and often labelled ‘the Godfather’, Freek is considered a pioneer in the GCC underground music scene. He has a prolific production rate and a discography of catchy hits such as Wala Kilma, which propelled him onto the international music scene. He was also nominated to compose a song for the Adidas marketing campaign in March 2019 for Liverpool FC’s forward player, Mohamed Salah. Freek’s 150 EP is the most highly anticipated project in the region and will feature various UK and international artists, due for release in the last quarter of the year.
Freek will share the stage with Saudi Arabian stars Khawater Al-Dalam who took the Arabs Got Talent stage by storm in 2012. The Jeddah group wowed audiences from across the region with their impressive appearing-disappearing LED dance. They will share the stage with Freek on 11 December 2019. Eight dancers, hidden behind myriads of colourful lights, will entertain the audience with their artistic performances.
