Several education workshops will be conducted by the Education section in Al Ain Palace Museum from September 2019 till April 2020.
The workshops will be divided into several parts including:
- Al Mandous
A continuous workshop dedicated to students in the morning visits. It is recycling workshop where student will turn the normal card paper to a useful Mandous (in reality it’s a wooden box) which consider one of the traditional items at the Al Ain Palace Museum Majlis and bedrooms. It is used for the purpose of saving precious and valuable items.
- Burqaa
A continuous workshop dedicated to students in the morning visits.
Student will have the chance to identify the Burqaa and its history through making a replica using simple material. Burqaa is women veil made of special material.
- Lantern
A continuous workshop dedicated to students in the morning visits.
Student will have the chance to identify the traditional lantern through making a paper lantern using simple material. Lantern is found all over around the Al Ain Palace Museum.
- Al Khous
A continuous workshop dedicated to students in the morning visits.
Student will have the chance to use the Palm Tree straws to make a traditional item made out of the straw but using new techniques.
- Al Majlis
A continuous workshop dedicated to students in the morning visits. Student will learn about the traditions of the majlis in UAE culture and the important role it has played in local society throughout history. They will have the chance to perform some of the roles of the Majlis attendee.
- Youngest tour guide
An Educational cooperative and awareness program dedicated to the students to introduce tour guiding and its basics to the students.
