Architecture beyond walls: the role of landscaping in urban placemaking

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi presents City Circles, a public programme that explores the connections between architecture, the environment and urban life.

Join us for the next talk in the series, Architecture beyond walls: the role of landscaping in urban placemaking, which explores how culture is shaped not only inside museums and galleries but also in the public spaces and gardens where people gather, meet and spend time together.

The conversation will examine how landscape architecture can create places that reflect local identity, encourage community life and support cultural activity. Through examples from practice, the discussion will look at the role of parks, gardens, plazas and public spaces in shaping the character of cultural institutions and the communities they serve.

Bringing together landscape architects and designers, the talk offers perspectives on the relationship between people, place, culture and the public realm.

Date Thursday, 9 July
Time 6 – 7 PM
Location Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

Moderator: Iaroslav Volovod
Curator, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi
