Al Maryah Island is inviting residents and visitors to join its festive celebrations to mark the UAE 48th National Day. Taking pride in its Emirati heritage and showcasing the richness of the UAE’s culture, Al Maryah Island will host an array of activities, including Ayyala and Harbeya dancers, traditional dishes at live cooking stations and Emirati inspired arts & crafts on its stunning waterfront Promenade. All of this with a spectacular firework display, which will illuminate the iconic Al Maryah Island skyline in the colours of the UAE flag.
 
This year’s theme “Legacy of Our Ancestors” pays homage to the values of Emirati ancestors of national pride, formed the building blocks for the founding of the UAE.  The event will transform the waterfront promenade into an Emirati village from the past, immersing visitors in the rich heritage of the UAE.  Attendees can get a taste of authentic Emirati cuisine courtesy of the wide array of food trucks and stalls.  Activities spreading the national spirit for all ages include unique Henna design and face painting. Arabic calligraphy artists will also help visitors tell a story or create greeting cards for their loved ones.
