Home Cultural Programmes Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF)
The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair was founded in 1981 under the name "The Islamic Book Fair" to realise the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the United Arab Emirates.
The Fair's launch confirms that education and culture are the fundamental pillars of building a strong and developed country, as well as developing international relations and bridging communication gaps between various countries around the world, as the Fair served as an incentive to establish a meeting point for Arab publishing houses.
The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is one of the world's most important cultural platforms, held annually in the heart of the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi. The Fair is a global platform that brings different cultures together with the goal of promoting the love of reading, spreading culture and knowledge locally, regionally, and globally, and promoting cultural exchange and dialogue between nations.
The Fair brings together leaders from the publishing and creative industries every year, providing promising opportunities for those involved in this sector to form new partnerships, learn about the latest trends and developments in this promising industry, and discuss its fundamental priorities.
