Home Cultural Heritage Heritage Register The Game Of Maryahanat Al Badw
Maryahanat al badw is a popular Bedouin game that is highly enjoyed by girls. The game incorporates songs and rhymes, and it is also considered a physical activity that strengthens the muscles of the back, feet and hands.
This game is played by two players, who sit facing each other. One player places her legs on the ground, then the second player puts her legs on top of the first player's legs, while holding hands. When playing, the first player pulls the hands of the second player until the first player’s back touches the ground. The second player reciprocates by pulling the first player’s hands until her back touches the ground. During the game, the players recite some chants.
