Celebrate the artisans and craftsmanship behind some of the most cherished Emirati handicrafts at the Traditional Handicrafts Festival
The Traditional Handicrafts Festival is an annual event that gives visitors a closer look at long-practised Emirati handicrafts, through demonstrations, competitions and hands-on workshops. The festival programme not only highlights the craftsmanship of artisans, but also promotes the skills and knowledge of these traditional techniques, also giving visitors an opportunity to explore some of these crafts.
The festival programme includes a number of open competitions, such as Arabic coffee-making (Gahwa), traditional Emirati cuisine and performances. The festival was inaugurated in 2014 at the Al Qattara Heritage Souq in Al Ain.
