As part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi’s (DCT Abu Dhabi) ongoing efforts to support and nurture talent within our community, we have developed a framework for endorsing Teaching Artists. Through a review process that involves evaluating a teaching artist’s qualifications, experience, and skills, applicants will be assessed on their capacity to create and deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences for participants of all ages. It is aimed at elevating the standards of arts education within the Emirate and beyond, while recognizing and empowering teaching artists with the pedagogical skills necessary to effectively teach and inspire learners across various artistic disciplines. The initiative ensures that teaching artists are equipped with engaging and effective teaching methodologies, fostering higher standards of excellence in community outreach and arts education.

Credentialed teaching artists will benefit from:

• Professional development opportunities and resources
• Membership card granting free access to all DCT sites and museums

The registry not only enhances the professional credentials of artists by integrating their deep cultural insights with best practices in education, it also enriches the cultural landscape of Abu Dhabi, fostering a vibrant community where the arts can thrive.

• Lesson plan for competency evaluation
