Eman Al Hashemi is an artist based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She graduated from the University of Sharjah’s Fine Arts and Design College with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and is an alumna of the 5th Cohort of the Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship. Currently, Al Hashemi teaches ceramics at Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children and continues to explore the possibilities to develop her practice. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in exhibitions such as “Portrait of a Nation” in Abu Dhabi and Berlin and “Transition” in London and is part of the Jameel Art Collection, ADMAF private collection, and V&A Museum collection. Al Hashemi’s practice consists of a variety of mediums with a focus on paper and print. Her artwork revolves around impossible tasks, repetition, productivity, inefficiency, and confused objects and shapes through sculptures, prints, drawings, ceramics, and artist books.
