The Red Palace
‘The Red Palace’ is inspired by the ‘Red Palace’ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and its role in key historical and political events of the 20th century. Artist Sultan bin Fahad collected memorabilia, relics and discarded objects from various sites, then created sculptures and installations exploring the transformative potential of these remains to represent what was lost but also their role in the country’s social metamorphosis. This 20-page catalogue features all the artist’s works in the 2020 exhibition held at the Cultural Foundation, Abu Dhabi, with vivid images and accompanying descriptions.
